2015 CDAA National Conference

8 Apr 2015
Pan Pacific Hotel
Perth
3 days

The Minerals Council of Australia is sponsoring the 25th Annual National Conference of the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA), to be held from the 8th – 10th April, 2015 in Perth, Western Australia.

The CDAA Annual National Conference provides the Minerals Council of Australia an opportunity to engage with career practitioners, education and training providers, industry leaders, and human resources professionals, who help shape the decisions school-aged students make in terms of university and their future careers. As was noted in the MTEC Gender Diversity Lunceons in 2014, career information is very important to students at school-aged level in selecting courses that in turn have a direct impact on what university program they can articulate into.

Holly Kiely, the 2014 MCA-BHP Billiton Women in Engineering Scholar, has been invited to address the delegation at the Welcoming Reception on the 8th of April. Holly will address the 300 or so career counsellors about her journey into mining engineering and the challenges she has faced as a female student.

+ About the event

The 25th Annual National Conference of the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA), to be held from the 8th – 10th April, 2015 in Perth, Western Australia, is set amongst one of the most significant periods of economic and policy change ever experienced by the Career Development profession. The question of how each career practitioner, education and training provider, industry leader, human resources professional, researcher and the aggregated profession responds to this change will be major determinants to career development for a number of generations to come.

The conference will bring together a diverse range of thinkers, leaders and practitioners to challenge every delegate in their own thinking and to take charge of the impacts that might be presented by this change. All change presents opportunity and it’s up to each one of us to take charge of our own responses in securing that presented opportunity.
